People have assembled throughout the country to remember two years since the Hamas-led attack on that fateful day in October 2023, as negotiations advanced in the neighboring country over a conclusion to the war in the Gaza Strip.

The assault saw over 1,200 people killed and 251 others taken away to Gaza as prisoners. It was the most deadliest day for Jewish people since the World War II.

Israel reacted by initiating a armed campaign in Gaza which has taken more than 67,000 people, as reported by the region's Hamas-administered health ministry. Its numbers are considered trustworthy by the UN and other world agencies.

"The violent opponents have caused great damage, but they have not defeated us," the leader stated on Tuesday.

He also promised to "achieve all the objectives of the war: the release of all the kidnapped, the removal of the Hamas government and the promise that Gaza will not pose a danger to Israel".

Memorial Ceremonies Across Israel

The Israeli government postponed official remembrance events until October 16th - after the end of the Jewish High Holiday season - but events still were held across the country on Tuesday.

A remembrance service for the families of people who died in the Hamas attack was organized in the coastal city. Organized by the victims' relatives, it was aired on Israeli television channels.

A period earlier, a minute's silence was observed throughout the country.

Peace Talks in Egypt

At the same time, Israeli and Hamas delegations gathered in the Egyptian coastal city of the Egyptian city for a second day of mediated discussions to examine the provisions of the plan.

A senior delegate familiar with the negotiations said that an night meeting of indirect talks began at evening in Egypt.

The representative explained the day's discussions ended without tangible results, because of disagreements over the suggested Israeli retreat arrangements from Gaza and over guarantees Hamas seeks to ensure Israel does not resume fighting after the initial stage of the arrangement.

He noted that the talks are "tough and have yet to achieve any major advancement," but pointed out that intermediaries are working hard to close the disparities between the both parties.

Key Issues in Negotiations

  • A permanent truce
  • The swap of the prisoners still held by Hamas for detainees from Gaza
  • The removal of troops from Gaza
  • Arrangements for humanitarian aid deliveries
  • Post-war management of the area

Civilian Feeling

In the city's public square earlier, young Hagar - whose sibling endured the attack on the gathering, where 378 people were lost their lives and dozens more were abducted by Hamas militants - told: "No location feels like home now and until all the hostages return no one will feel safe."

"Once we see all home returned, we can relax anew. Then we can commence heal," she concluded.

Near Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home in Jerusalem, people gathered to express their solidarity for the families of the hostages. Israel reports 48 continue in confinement in Gaza, 20 of whom are considered to be surviving.

Protester Atalia Regev remarked: "We must do whatever arrangement required for the captives to be released. But we really want guarantees that we will be secure."

Research now consistently show that about the majority of Israelis desire the conflict to finish in as payment for the liberation of the hostages.

Gaza Conditions

At the site of Nova festival, grieving people assembled to pay their respects.

From there, the boom of Israeli air strikes and explosions could be heard just a few kilometres away in Gaza, where observers indicated the severe Israeli attacks carried on.

In the main city, bombardments were reported in the dawn of that day in the west side Tal al-Hawa, sector and locality neighbourhoods and in the east side area of that sector, as well the settlement to the northwest.

"When the evening arrives, the fear appears with it," displaced Gaza City resident Emaan al-Wahidi, whose 17-year-old son was killed by an Israeli bombing earlier, shared.

"We are fearful of the air strikes. Throughout the evening we are resting together, clinging, particularly my little child who puts his head on me throughout the night."

"Constantly we look at the news to see what happened. And I'm concerned that this truce will not be completed and that the conflict will return to us."

Medical Situation

The healthcare center in Gaza City reported it had accepted the corpses of several people by the daytime, including several killed in an Israeli strike in the south part al-Sabra neighbourhood.

A different healthcare center in the southern urban center of Khan Younis said additional victims had been delivered. A person was lost his life by Israeli troops while looking for help to the south region, health workers stated.

The territory's health ministry announced twenty-five of the {territ
