Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
