NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features live text for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through designated networks for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , following last week's discussion regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both lost their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the number of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it proved good to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit before direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory 21-17.

The Broncos boast the top defender in CB their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending extra defenders instead they might position two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

Early on of the season, we said during a show that Denver could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season strongly and did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent RB JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows how the Broncos represent a squad that wants to run first, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in positive situations.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they don't move in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as using varied release points to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to be in play for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense must cover the field vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can really build something up how he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a championship and has passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to face an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends on which form of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
