Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Face MPs' Grilling After Claims of Bias in Disclosed Memo

Ex- BBC advisers speaking in front of Members of Parliament

We begin with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that oversees the panel.

She opens by giving background to the leaked memo prepared by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.

"I don't want the BBC tilting in any particular direction, I simply desire it neutral, unbiased and just," he says.

When asked if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, Prescott replies: "No I don't. Let's be clear, a great deal the BBC produces is exceptional - including informative and non-factual programming."

However, he continues: "There is real work that requires attention at the BBC."

Another previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation consultant interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, states she takes the BBC very seriously and that it has a "ongoing system and active debate" on dynamic and complex issues.

"Did the BBC ready to engage in a genuine discussion and exchange and implement changes?" she questions. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
